 Nutrition and Weight Loss
at Stripes, Derby's Personal Training Gym

At Stripes, Derby's Fitness Gym, every member receives a nutritional analysis.  One of their initial sessions is spent talking about their eating plan and what we can do to help them achieve an attractive healthy body composition and weight loss.  Lifestyle and job are taken into consideration.  Stripes uses electrical impedance, not BMI (a completely ineffective measurement) to determine how much body fat and lean tissue the individual has.  Many factors must be examined.  The age of the individual is often a general indicator of how much muscle tissue he or she will have (unless they have trained most of their lifes).  As time goes on muscle tissue deteriorates and as our muscle determines the speed of our metabolism individuals may find that they are eating the same but still are putting on weight.  It is just a simple matter of rebuilding the lost muscle tissue, thus rebuilding the metabolism up to a healthy one which will promote fat loss.  Often times the hormonal changes of menopause will cause body fat to rise and couple that with a deterioration of muscle mass due to the natural ageing process and it is hardly a wonder many women develope that "middle aged" spread.  The cards are stacked against them.

But at Stripes, Derby's Personal Training Gym, we have developed a wonderful eating plan (we do not believe in diets!) based on the GI (glycemic index) level of foods, the eating intervals, and the total amount of carbohydrate consumed.  And it really works!!!

Every member gets the benefit of this nutrition assessement and find that the combination of this eating plan, and their new exercise plan, their bodies begin to change, and they look and feel better than they have in years.
